Lakers Win Second Straight Over Mavericks Despite Doncics Triple Double

Lakers Win Second Straight Over Mavericks Despite Doncic's Triple-Double

Davis Tallies 26 Points, 10 Rebounds, 9 Assists

Russell Scores 29 Points, Hardaway Jr. Drops 32

Anthony Davis narrowly missed out on a triple-double, finishing the game with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists. DAngelo Russell also had a strong performance, contributing 29 points to the Lakers' cause. Tim Hardaway Jr. led the scoring for the Mavericks with 32 points, while Luka Doncic added 33 points and 17 assists.

The Mavericks came out strong in the first quarter, leading 35-28. However, the Lakers quickly turned things around in the second quarter, outscoring the Mavericks 33-19 to take a halftime lead of 61-54. The Lakers maintained their lead throughout the second half, ultimately securing the 127-125 victory.

Despite Doncic's impressive triple-double, the Lakers' defense held him to just 11-of-28 shooting from the field. Hardaway Jr. was more efficient offensively, shooting 11-of-18 from the field, but his efforts were not enough to overcome the Lakers' balanced scoring attack.

The Lakers' victory marked their second consecutive win and moved them to 32-27 overall. The Mavericks, meanwhile, dropped to 33-26 with the loss. The two teams will meet again on March 7 in Los Angeles.

In a post-game interview, Lakers coach Frank Vogel praised his team's resilience and determination. "I thought our guys showed a lot of character tonight," Vogel said. "We were down by 7 points in the first quarter, but we didn't panic. We just kept fighting and eventually we were able to take control of the game."

Anthony Davis echoed Vogel's sentiments, saying that the team never gave up on each other. "We knew it was going to be a tough game against a great team like Dallas," Davis said. "But we stuck together and we were able to get the win. This is a big win for us, and it's a great way to start our road trip."
