Blue Jays Joey Loperfido Exiting Lineup Wednesday

Blue Jays' Joey Loperfido: Exiting lineup Wednesday

The Blue Jays' Joey Loperfido will not be in the lineup Wednesday against the Yankees due to a sore right wrist.

Loperfido exited Tuesday's game against the Yankees in the fourth inning after being hit by a pitch on the wrist. X-rays came back negative, but he is still experiencing soreness.

The Blue Jays are hopeful that Loperfido will be able to return to the lineup soon, but they are not taking any chances with his health. In the meantime, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. will start in left field and bat fifth.

Loperfido has been a key player for the Blue Jays this season, batting .290 with four home runs and 16 RBIs in 54 games. He has also been a valuable contributor on defense, playing all three outfield positions.

The Blue Jays are currently in a tight race for the AL East division title, so they can ill-afford to lose Loperfido for an extended period of time. They will be hoping that he can make a quick recovery and return to the lineup soon.

Stay tuned for updates on Loperfido's status.
